It pays to be nice—literally. We asked The Nice Place founder Chris Whitehead about building a social platform where you can get paid to be helpful. Chris has used Bubble for over a year now. He chose Bubble because of the no-code platform's speed, which enabled him to build a prototype from the first day without having to code.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
The Nice Place is a social platform where you get paid to be helpful. Members sign up and can earn NiceCoin (the digital currency of the platform) whenever someone upvotes their posts or comments. This NiceCoin can be sold back to the platform, so if you are kind, helpful, and respectful, you can earn a profit from your time on social media.
How does your app work?
It's mainly in Q&A format at the moment, so you can either ask the community a question or answer someone else's question.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
I've been using Bubble for over a year now, and it's completely changed the way I approach building products. You can now prototype startup ideas in a matter of days.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
For speed. It's much quicker to build a prototype on Bubble rather than hard-code it from the first day.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
Despite only launching one and half months ago, we're already up to nearly $500 monthly recurring revenue and are expecting to hit $1,000 MRR in the next few weeks.
What are your next steps or future plans for your app?
We believe that the social platforms that truly put their members first will be the ones that thrive over the next 30 years. We aim to make NiceCoin into a token so our members can have true ownership of the platform currency, and beyond that, we intend to decentralize so that members can own their data, and vote on major platform decisions.
