We asked Al-Remi founder, Carlos Velasquez, about building an app that assists small restaurant owners to post consistently on Social Media by creating copy for them. Carlos discovered Bubble in October 2020 and joined the no-code movement shortly after. He chose Bubble because the no-code platform offers a wide variety of resources such as a community, bootcamp, online courses, and more to build a fully functional app.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
AI-Remi is designed to assist small restaurant owners to post consistently on social media by creating copy for them. The long-term vision is that it'll become a fully AI-powered marketing platform, handling everything from social media creation to posting, to web/menu design and engineering.
How does your app work?
Right now a user can sign up and give instructions to Remi such as "create social media copy for an ice cream sundae" generate a response, copy it and use it on their social media platforms. Likewise, they can also add their menu items, team members and restaurant mission to create even more content around this.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
I found out about Bubble in October of last year through Instagram and shortly after discovered the no-code movement. I've had this idea for a while since I've worked in the industry for the past 4 years. I had done UX interviews, tests and problem validation. However, I did not have any coding skills so the idea just came to a halt when I could not pursue it further. Then I discovered Bubble and I knew it was an opportunity I could not pass on.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?
It was the first no-code tool I encountered, and I immediately looked for an Udemy course. There were many courses so I went through two courses to feel familiar with Bubble and through the process discovered the Facebook/Twitter community which is incredibly helpful (and there is nothing like it). Other platforms did not have the 1-1 support I needed so that's one of the main reasons I went with Bubble. In short, all the resources available for Bubble (the community, the bootcamp, the online course/videos and the forum) was the reason I went with Bubble.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
I launched today! Thanks to the Bubble bootcamp and two weeks before the last day. I have a couple of beta users on the pipeline as well as further conversations with a large restaurant group in Texas that would like to test it.
What are your next steps or future plans for your app?
Increasing automation with a backend workflows and sync it with a national holiday calendar to pull content ideas, and work a way to create more content from recipe's ingredients.
