We asked Blogable founder, Dylan Anderson, about building an app that allows users to share their blogs all in one place. The main goals of the app are to drive traffic to your website and share your blog without needing to pay a hefty advertising fee. Dylan is from Australia and he has created a number of websites and apps, such as Blogable and YardGuru.com.au. He chose Bubble because the no-code platform offers the easiest and most complete solution to build a functioning platform within days.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
Blogable is a place where users can share their blogs all in one place. The main goal is to drive traffic to your website, share your blog without needing to pay money for advertisements, and gain a following while you're at it. Comparable to YouTube but for blogs, Blogable is a great way to gain free exposure to your app/blog by sharing it to potential customers. It's like a backwards Google.
How does your app work?
Simply create a 'Channel' and upload posts. Content creators have the ability to create 'Channels' which will show their blog/app across the Blogable Network. We want you to gain more exposure to your website by uploading a short 'excerpt' or eye catching paragraph to get visitors to follow your website. We want you to share your content with people who actually want to see it. Visitors can 'Subscribe' to your 'Channel' and when you upload your next post, your posts will be shown in their feed. You can also make an income by displaying ads on your posts and accepting 'pledges' from visitors.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
Dylan Anderson is my name and I'm from Australia. I've created quite a number of apps and websites most recently Blogable. I've been able to bring the ideas that are stuck in my head to life with Bubble and I can't thank them enough. My other projects which is on the Bubble Showcase is YardGuru.com.au, a gardening comparison site and booking application. That business is where my Bubble journey started.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
I solved a problem that I've faced with every time I made an app and/or website. The question was always "what do I do after I've created it?" I'm not into SEO or spending money to advertise my site. However, people seeing what's been made is important. If I can put my website in front of people without them knowing they wanted to see it, that's what I was going to do.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
Achieving milestones is quite an addiction to me, my goal was to at least generate some traffic for people and their sites. Several messages have been sent to me saying this is exactly what's happened. Personally, I to upload my blogs to Blogable and notice an increase in traffic which I wouldn't otherwise get.
What are your future plans for your app?
Things I would love to improve on would be a redesign/refresh of the home page. Simplistic and a ton of content shown to you without it being too intrusive. Without people posting however none of this is possible. I'll certainly continue creating apps and content and uploading them to Blogable.
