Ever feel frustrated with outdated modes of logging and collecting data? Logan Havern, founder of Datalogz, tells us how his app does away with complicated data organization platforms in favor of this sleek, useful tool. Bubble's ease of use for developers translated perfectly to building a simple simple data UX for users.

Tell us about your app and what it does.

Datalogz is a data collaboration tool for data science and analytics teams to eliminate data disorganization without complicated IT procedures. Typical data management systems can costs thousands of dollars and take months to implement, Datalogz has zero implementation costs and can be used almost immediately. Essentially, it is a modern environment for teams to better document data and associated work replacing confusing data documentation commonly located in a spreadsheet or a word document.

How does your app work?

Users can upload their data tables and create one centralized repository for their team to organize their data dictionaries, answer essential questions, provide up to date data notifications, and publish recent work/analysis. Datalogz creates a one-stop-shop to understand data quickly and provides meta-data comprehension so users can quickly produce value from data.

The home page of a data table works similar to a social network where you can view your team and colleagues work at the data table level.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

Currently, I work as an industrial engineer in NYC though I’ve been a serial “wanna-be” entrepreneur since college! The bottleneck I always hit when dreaming up the next billion-dollar SaaS product is finding technical experts to build my vision at a cost that makes financial sense for me. This led me to take a Bubble crash course on a whim one evening and start my journey as a “no-code” developer.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

After about an hour of playing around on Bubble, I had already built a simple project management application. Bubble was in perfect sync with how I thought about programming, i.e. click this, and this action will occur. I quickly realized I could build more complex tools on Bubble and got started right away.

If you’re trying to discover what data to use for a new project, Datalogz allows you to search across data tables to quickly locate the right data.

What have been your milestones or successes so far?

I launched Datalogz about two weeks ago and we have had over 200 people express interest in being beta testers. We currently have 40 active users and are partnering with a data science competition in the coming weeks that will use Datalogz to manage meta-data. We expect over 1,000 new users then.

What are your future plans for your app?

In the next few months, my immediate plan is to continue growing our user base and collecting feedback to make the product better. Bubble has allowed me to quickly iterate the product in real-time as users report opportunities for enhancement. My goal is to reach 1,500 users by the end of year and grow Datalogz into an enterprise level data management tool.
