We asked the CEO of Wellifi - Flatten the Curve, Craig Bramscher, about creating a COVID-19 visual data app that allows users to view the up-to-date number of cases in the United States at a glance. Bramscher founded the app with Ron Hom, CTO of Wellifi. They chose Bubble to create the app because they believe it is the most powerful no-code solution to creating any app without code.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
Flatten the Curve tracks the COVID-19 data in the United States, utilizing the information from the New York Times.
How does your app work?
We allow people to browse the data, and we chart and map out the trends, as we feel that is more important than the total numbers in the context of seeing how the US is doing by city/state and region. We allow people to login and track just locations that are important to them, family and friends or compare their town to NY or LA or Boston, etc. There is social networking feature so that you can track with friends and family. The users can sharing with friends and family and find other people that care about the locations.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
We developed web and phone apps since the DotCom period. After ten years away from development while we built an electric vehicle company, we have returned to coding and wanted to deploy applications on AWS and have followed all the no-code solutions over the last decade.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
It is clearly the best no-code solution available today and is built upon the AWS infrastructure.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
Delivering the Flatten the Curve app in ten weeks from start to finish has been the most significant success.
What are your future plans for your app?
We are going to make a virus tracking part of our forthcoming app that will track personal health and fitness. Flatten the Curve will be a small component of the bigger application deployed on Bubble and/with iPhone and Android apps.
