Bubble App of the Day: NoCodeMinute

We asked NoCodeMinute founder, Jason K, about building an app that provides tutoring services for Bubble users who face problems when building an app on the no-code platform. Jason's most recent role was interpreting for those who are deaf and hard to hear; he has always had a heart for teaching and helping others. On his free time, he thinks about different business ideas to fulfill his goal of starting his own business and being his own boss. Jason chose Bubble because the no-code platform enables him to build and customize NoCodeMinute quickly and efficiently.  

Tell us about your app and what it does.

Jason: The influx of users to Bubble during the COVID-19 crisis meant that a lot of people were now at home trying to start their own businesses from home or creating software to help their business run. Sometimes people spend hours on the Bubble forum, trying to find answers to a problem they have, without even knowing how to explain the problem. This is where NoCodeMinute's no-code tutoring sessions and classes come in.

How does your app work?

The user first signs up for either a one or two-hour tutoring session. Before the appointment, the user can explain what they need help with so that we can be prepared for their session.

During the session the user can share their screen with us and ask questions about their personal project with complete confidence that we will respect their privacy and work. We work through the problems they're facing and end up hearing a lot of cheering, hoorays and excitement as we help them figure things out.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

Professionally, I have been all over the map and have mostly worked for others. My most recent employment was at a large national company interpreting for those who are deaf and hard of hearing over video calls. My desire to have my own business and work as my own boss has always been in the back of my mind though. Not being limited to an hourly paycheck was a goal of mine to support my family without having to work full-time.

I found Bubble back in early 2017. I had been looking for a no-code tool like this for years and was so happy when I found it. Prior to Bubble, I searched the internet looking for a tool that I could use. I needed a software compatible with my Mac. There were programs available for Windows but they were old and outdated, and I couldn't use them on my computer anyways. I ended up making my own spreadsheet, which took hours to complete.

I didn't find a tool that fit my needs until I found Bubble. Once I found Bubble, I started with my first version and launched it within 3 months. Now the software is used in over 15 languages all around the world and the process to build takes 30 minutes or less. Bubble makes life a lot easier for a lot of people.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

I decided to build my NoCodeMinute eLearning Platform on Bubble because I wanted to show new users all of the features that Bubble offers. With other no-code platforms there are always limitations about customization, especially on how to place elements on the screen.

With Bubble, I could just drop an element on the screen and start working with it right away. That was huge! I made things so quickly! Although, at first, it didn’t look pretty. Other platforms just didn’t have this feature. I had finally found what I was looking for, and with a price I could afford.

What have been your successes or milestones so far?

I have over 200 followers on YouTube now. A lot of users started to join in on the eLearning Hub “members only” portal. With NoCodeMinute, I was able to successfully start my own business and earn enough income to support my family within three months. I am continuing to expand the eLearning capabilities of NoCodeMinute to meet the needs of customers worldwide.

What are your next steps or future plans for your app?

I would like to add more features to my eLearning Hub and focus on educating more people about Bubble. I also plan to offer classes at a cheaper price and at different times to adapt to more students’ schedules.

My future plans are to promote NoCodeMinute to businesses looking to develop their own software. I want to encourage others to invest in themselves and build their custom software with Bubble.

I always say give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
