We asked Realife founder, Aris Maquelin, about building an app that allows users to organize outside group activities based on their interests and location. Aris has a backgrond in biology, pedagogy, and economics. chose Bubble because the no-code platform offers powerful, no-code app building tools and all of the features necessary to build a product.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
The gloom of the current period, as well as the fact that the virtual world is taking up more space in our lives, prompted me to create a web application that allows the organisation of outside group activities based on the interests and location of users. The philosophy of the application is that a successful use of it is when it doesn’t take much time. The goal is to reconnect people physically (no place for comments or likes). Let’s imagine a summer’s day, a group of friends want to play some sport, but there’s not enough of them. They publish the activity on the app, and somebody who is in the same area can register and join in. The idea is to propose activities in different areas.
The app goes further and proposes to users to exploit their talents. They can propose paying activities. The app offers ticket sales and a tool to control the tickets. Each ticket is individualised to avoid grey market and the resale of tickets is possible (at the same or lower prise).
Finally users can contact other users and discover pictures of the different activities organised.

How does your app work?
After subscribing, if a user wants to propose an activity, he uses the “plus” button and completes the information for the activity (gives a title, a description, precises the address and the date).
Finally, the user can then control the different activities proposed with the “console” button (accept participants, use the chat associated with the event, post photos of the event, scan tickets).
After subscribing, the user has to define the geographical area for each center of interest, with the “parameter” button.
The “bell” button allows the user to see all the activities proposed in the different areas.
The “Realife” button allows users to follow the evolution of registrations (accepted for an activity, validated activity, access to purchased tickets, access to photos of the event).
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
I received a master's in biology (pharmacology), and after a period of research I decided to teach biology so I obtained a master's in pedagogy. In parallel with my job, I obtained a bachelor's in economy and I am currently subscribed to the final test for the 42 school. It’s been a long time I wanted to create this application, but I didn’t have a good background in coding. I discovered the no-code world by watching videos on youtube. The majority of the youtubers advised to use bubble so I tested.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
I got the information that it was the most complete platform for no-code. By testing I realized that the team is really helpful. I take the opportunity to thank Jess Sommerville and Eve Kozina to have always given me precious advices.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
Various media were interested in my project, here are some links in French of the different presentations:

What are your next steps or future plans for your app?
I am looking for people interested by the project and the creation of a cooperative to include the future users of the application in the evolution of the project.
