We asked One Pager Tool founder, Tim Cooley, about building an app that helps companies raise capital. The main goal of the app is to help entrepreneurs who looking for funding. Tim has been an entrepreneur for years and wanted to build tools that he could use without spending thousands of dollars on them. He chose Bubble because the no-code platform offers almost all of the customization options, features, and resources to build the tools he needs.

Tell us about your app and what it does.

The One Pager tool is designed to help companies raise capital. Some of the hardest things to do when raising capital is being succinct in telling your story and actually knowing who is looking at your deal. I built the One Pager tool to help my clients as well as other entrepreneurs who are looking for funding to solve these problems.

How does your app work?

The app is simple to use. Users just need to follow these five steps:

  1. Log In
  2. Submit the name of the company you are building
  3. Answer a bunch of questions
  4. Then your One Pager is live and you can start sharing it
  5. When you share it investors are required to enter their email address so you can keep track of who is interested in your company.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

I have been an entrepreneur for years. I taught myself basic coding in high school, back in the 90s. Moving forward many years, I always enjoyed building things, furniture, DIY projects and then dabbled in code again, launching 5 mobile games. As an entrepreneur and mentor to many start-ups there were always tools I wanted and didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars to develop them. I heard about Bubble through an engineer friend of mine and gave it a shot.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

I have seen many solutions and this one had one of the nicer User Interfaces and the Workflows seemed to make sense. I also really like the idea of the Boot Camp, which I did. I am excited for the next versions of Bubble, more friend response development and things, but man it is amazing.

What have been your milestones or successes so far?

The tool I built was internal for my clients, so it has already been used by hundreds of people the day it went live.  I opened it up on timlcooley.com to allow other people who are looking for funding. So far I have over 100 people there who have used the tool as well. Many of them are raising capital and came from reading The Pitch Deck Book: How To Present Your Business And Secure Investors.

What are your future plans for your app?

I plan to keep improving the experience, but mostly am looking to build more tools like this one to help entrepreneurs navigate the funding process.
