We spoke with PlugCorner's founder, Aïssatou Sane, about creating a free platform that connects freelancers with diverse expertise and business owners worldwide. Users can easily find professionals and businesses based on the locations and products. Sane is an accountant; Bubble was her first experience building with no-code tools. With Bubble's unmatched simplicity and extensive functionality, Sane built complex features for her app without code, and she is beginning to explore software development.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
PlugCorner is a listing app that I made to create a platform to give exposure to freelancers and independent business owners worldwide, and give easy access for potential customers to find and discover these businesses. The goal is to get a lot of professionals registered on PlugCorner to give visitors the best view on the nearest and best-ranked businesses around them geographically.
How does your app work?
On this app, you can (as a business owner) sign up and create a public page where all of your business information will be displayed, such as the opening hours, location, or even your social media information, along with pictures and videos of your work.
And (as a simple user) you can search and find a business that will provide a service or product that you need, communicate with the business owner/freelancer via the messaging tool, and save business pages in collections that you can create. The users can also leave a review on business pages. The goal of the reviews will be to create a ranking list of the best professionals for any category.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
I am a 25-years-old accountant, and I do not have any experience in coding. I discovered Bubble by searching for a no-code tool that gave me the opportunity to create my idea.
Why did you build your app on Bubble ?
Having no experience in coding, Bubble was the first no-code tool that caught my attention because of its simplicity in learning and understanding the functionality. At the same time, Bubble gave me the chance to execute more complex features. Building on the Bubble platform indeed made me want to explore and learn from the world of software development even more.
What are your future plans for your app?
I want to see how this app evolves in the next months as I just launched it, and I am still learning how to create a good database for this app. Because it is a listing app, it will need a lot of people to make this app a good social platform to navigate. I also plan to create the French version of it to make it more accessible. And if this app does grow, I would like to study it and continue to add more updated tools to give a better experience to the users.
