Digital concerts, celebrity streams, sporting events—these are just a few of the occasions where live-streaming can be key. But setting up live-streaming on your own app or website can be a pain. SimpleLive CTO David Richards is trying to change that; he thinks live-streaming should be a lot easier to integrate. In just a couple minutes, SimpleLive users can set up live-streaming with real-time analytics on their own app or website. We spoke with SimpleLive about their app and what’s next.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
SimpleLive enables you to add livestream functionality to your website or app in under two minutes: no coding, plugins, APIs or setups required. Traditionally, it can take hours, days, or even weeks to implement complicated APIs, SDKs, documentation, and set up video encoders for live streaming. Integrating live-streaming functionality should not be this hard. We make it super simple and easy to add the same functionality to your project in a fraction of the time.
How does your app actually work?
All users need to do to set up SimpleLive is sign up, copy the code from your account dashboard, and paste the link into their website or app. That’s it—they’re done! Everything is automatically handled: camera and audio device permissions, broadcaster and audience roles, HD and SD streaming, screen-sharing feature, automatic network speed adaptation to prevent buffering, starting and ending stream, and more. Plus you get instant real-time analytics in your dashboard. It’s really that simple.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
Our team has worked in software startups and venture funds in the U.S., London, and Estonia. We have always liked no-code and had dabbled in no-code tools over the last few years. We decided to go all-in as no-code tools were becoming more powerful and robust.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
We like the ease of use of Bubble combined with the robustness of the platform, and we enjoyed being able to write our own custom tools to use with Bubble and further stretch its capabilities.
What have been your milestones for success?
We are powering customers which include music concerts (South Africa), a live-stream shopping app (France), a celebrity-to-fan live-stream platform (London), and a football league (Africa). We also powered a music concert for a cancer charity for free as part of our giving back initiative. We have some exciting, well-known customers that will launch their own live-streaming products using SimpleLive, which we'll announce in the coming weeks and months.
What are your future plans for SimpleLive?
In the coming weeks, we are adding video calls, video conferencing, text chat, voice calls, and audio rooms that work just as simply as our current live-streaming feature. Users will be able to add those features to their products, apps, and websites in under 30 seconds with no coding or plugins required. Our long-term vision is to simplify communication tools for no-code developers worldwide.
