We chatted with one of the Think Confluent co-founders, Nicolas Cabrignac, about building a software-as-a-service (SaaS) app that helps employers and supervisors efficiently manage their employees, with personalized profiles of each team member. Cabrignac was looking for ways to combine his experience in neuroscience and technology to boost productivity for companies with customized training. The moment he discovered Bubble, Cabrignac found the perfect way to build a complex app without spending his time coding.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
Think Confluent is a SaaS that helps modern companies to create the personalized work experience each employee expects to have, remotely or at the office. People all have different needs, personalities, and expectations at work, so company leaders have to consider this cognitive diversity in their HR & management strategy to create successful work experiences. That's why we combined cognitive data & AI to generate a cognitive profile for each worker that highlights his/her personality and work preferences. These cognitive profiles help us providing neurosciences-based personalized training at every level of the company to help executives, HR, managers, and people to build a better work environment side by side.
How does your app work?
We have designed Think Confluent for the whole company. Each team has its workspace. Employees use the platform to fill their cognitive profile, assess how they feel toward their work experience, and benefit from personalized training to improve productivity, well-being, or teamwork. Managers monitor their team's level of satisfaction and learn how to adapt their leadership, considering their team's cognitive diversity. Finally, HR has an overview of what happens in the company and will benefit from a roadmap that defines a unique strategy to act on what matters to people.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
I'm 23, French, and just got a master's degree in cognitive sciences (a mix of neurosciences and psychology to make it simple). I discovered Bubble from hearing the podcast of Charles Thomas, CEO of Comet, a French startup leading the tech-freelance market. Charles said that they had built their MVP using Bubble. I had this vision that the only way to efficiently change the way people work was to use neurosciences to deeply understand everyone and build a workplace that works for all, but I had no dev skill. After hearing this podcast, I decided to have a look at Bubble, and well, here we are!
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
We have the ambition to make Think Confluent global since the beginning. As we had no network effect to start, we had to bring a solid prototype to reach big companies around the world. Bubble was the only no-code tool allowing us to build a complex app with an easy way to iterate fast. Even if I have tried some other tools, I thought that workflows were less intuitive and brought fewer possibilities.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
From a software dev point of view, I have built the entire app and website in several months, which are right now fully functional. It allowed us to start our private beta. From a personal point of view, I'm proud of the design (even if it is simple) as we took very little time to do it with absolutely no investment in it. Considering our growth, we have right now around 115 pre-registered companies with a total of 335K people. Our pre-registration rate increased during the April COVID-19 lockdown as we have adapted our app quickly for remote teams - that's far more than we expected!
What are your future plans for your app?
Right now, our goal is to onboard our pre-registered companies so they can start using the app. I can't wait to gather feedback from users to iterate quickly and build with them the product they dream of!
