Use the Timer / stopwatch element when you need elapsed time. Add the element to the page, then run its Start timer, Pause timer, Stop timer, and Clear timer actions from workflows. Use Display for formatted HH:MM:SS text and Total time (seconds) when saving or comparing elapsed time.
Use the Countdown element when you need time remaining until an end date. Run Start or resume countdown with a Start date, End date, and optional label text. Enable Update every second for a live countdown, or disable it to calculate the difference between the two dates once.

Use the element states in text elements, conditions, and workflows. Use the timer and countdown events when your app needs to save a value, update the page, or continue a workflow after the timer stops or the countdown ends.
