Drop the element on a page, set Search list, choose ID key and Label key (auto-detect works if you leave them blank), and optionally add:

Option caption (templated display text),

Search field list + semantics (OR/AND),

Placeholder, Min characters to open, and a Default value.

Behavior & wiring:

Event: Value changed fires only when the user changes the selection.

Default value: applying it does not fire the event, but does publish selected.

Exposed states: selected (thing), is_ready, is_open, is_focused, error (text).

Action: Reset Search Box — clears the selection; choose silent (no event) or emit the change (triggers the event).

Styling: per-instance via the element’s Custom CSS field (control, dropdown, option rows, and the clear/reset control).
