Instructions to Configure the Picker in Bubble Follow these steps to integrate and configure the Google Drive Native Picker in your Bubble application:

  1. 1. Plugin Installation:   Go to the Bubble Plugin Marketplace and search for "Google Drive Native Picker". Install the plugin and place the picker element on the page where you want users to interact with Google Drive.
  2. 2. Property Setup:   In the Bubble editor, select the plugin element and configure its properties: β€’ api_key and client_id from your Google Cloud project   β€’ view_mode: choose "select", "download", "share", or "all"   β€’ file_type: filter by "all", "documents", "images", etc.   β€’ allow_multiple_selection: enable multiple file selection   β€’ max_files (optional): limit the number of selectable files
  3. 3. UI Customization:   Use the plugin's exposed states (e.g., file_names, file_urls, file_ids, etc.) to dynamically show selected file data.   Set up workflows to respond to events like:   β€’ onFilesSelected – triggered when files are chosen   β€’ onFilesDownload, onFilesShare, onFilesAll – for specific actions   β€’ onError – triggered when an error occurs
  4. 4. Automation with API Workflows (Optional):   To store or manipulate file data in your database: β€’ Go to the "Backend Workflows" tab and create an endpoint (e.g., saveFile)   β€’ Add parameters like: file_url, file_id, file_size, file_name, file_mime_type, file_thumbnail   β€’ Use "Schedule API Workflow on a List" in the front-end workflow to send selected files to the backend
  5. 5. Google Cloud Setup:   β€’ Create or use an existing project in the Google Cloud Console   β€’ Enable Google Drive API and Google Picker API   β€’ Set up the OAuth consent screen   β€’ Generate your API Key and OAuth Client ID credentials   β€’ Under "Authorized JavaScript origins", add your Bubble app domain   β€’ Ensure the redirect URI in Google matches the one used by Bubble
