Manage Browser Cookies

Plugin details

This plugin allows you to create, read and delete browser cookies within your app.
You can save certain information for a user, without him/her being logged in.
For example, if your app has a dark mode, you can specify the user's preference as a cookie.

This plugin allows you to not use the "Current User" within a workflow. This might be useful if you want to set a cookie without really affecting the current user if he/she is logged in. You also have the ability to set the expiration date of the cookie.

Usage Features:

- Cookie Management – Create, read, and delete browser cookies directly within your app.
- Store User Preferences – Save settings like dark mode, language choice, or layout preferences without requiring user login.
- No Current User Dependency – Set and manage cookies without affecting the logged-in user’s data.
- Custom Expiration Dates – Define how long cookies remain valid by setting specific expiration dates.
- Lightweight Data Storage – Quickly store small amounts of data for personalization and improved UX.
- Seamless Workflow Integration – Easily use cookie actions in workflows without extra setup.

Feedback

FAQ

What functionality does the plugin provide?
You can create, read, and delete browser cookies directly within your app, letting you store information even if the user isn’t logged in.

Can it store user preferences like dark mode?
Yes. You can use cookies to store settings such as a user's theme preference (e.g., dark mode), without needing them to be logged in.

Does using cookies affect the current user?
No. You can set cookies without relying on or altering the “Current User” workflow, which means it works independently of user sessions.

Can I specify how long a cookie lasts?
Absolutely. When creating a cookie, you specify an expiration period in days to control how long it remains valid.

How do I set up the plugin on my page?
1. Add the Cookies element to your page in the Design tab. This element must be present for any cookie operations to work.
2. Use the Create Cookie workflow action to define a cookie name, value, and expiry.
3. Use the Read Cookie action with the cookie name to retrieve its value, which triggers a “Cookie Ready” event and allows you to access the value via the plugin’s state.
4. Use the Delete Cookie action by specifying the cookie’s name to remove it from the browser.

What states does the plugin expose?
It exposes a state called CookieValue, which holds the value of the cookie after the “Read Cookie” action has completed.

What events are available for workflows?
The plugin triggers a Cookie Ready event when the cookie’s value has been loaded and is available via the state.

15$ paying once is Worth for this plugin. but the only problem is that the cookie created on one page cant be used on other page. but still its very useful.
Hi there, Thanks so much for the awesome review! Just to clarify: Cookies set on one page are accessible from other pages as long as they're on the same domain! So, if you want to set a cookie on one page and access it on another, you just need to make sure the plugin element is included on both pages. If you have any questions or need help setting this up, don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly support team at [email protected]. We're always happy to assist! Thanks again for the feedback, and happy developing! Kind Regards, The Rapid Dev Team.

Does the job but could use some enhancements...
December 15th, 2021
Plugin works as indicated and is simple to use but it would be helpful to have better documentation. For example, I was under the impression that the cookie can hold and access multiple values given the action "Create Cookie A" allows you to name the data held by element and "Read Cookie A" allows you to recall the data by the assigned name. However when it comes time to use the value in a display text, etc. you can only display "Cookie A's CookieValue" and there is no option to select data specific to the assigned data name... (e.g. "Cookie A's Value1", "Cookie A's Value2...) so like I said, it works well but this just changes the ease with which you can access the data. Adding this ability to access multiple data based on the "Cookie A" data name would be a nice future enhancement! Thanks for this plugin!
It just works!
