Instructions

Full documentation on Instructions Tab here: https://tech-blocks.bubbleapps.io/?tab=Open-URL-in-New-Tab

1. Add an html id attribute to the element that you wish to click (can be a group, image, text, etc)
2. Click to start a workflow with that element
3. Add an action to that workflow
4. From the "Plugins" sub-menu, you should see an option called "Open URL in New Tab" -- select this one.
5. For the first input, called "This Element's html id", add the html id attribute you used in step 1
6. For the second input, called "Destination URL", add the full URL of the link destination (e.g. "https://google.com" would be correct. NOT "google.com" or "www.google.com")

Very happy with this plugin! Unlike other plugins I've tried, this plugin does not trigger any popup blockers (I have tried it on a number of browsers and popup blocker plugins). It is a great plugin that saves me lots of time and simplifies my app. I used to add a link element over buttons/repeatinggroup cells where I needed to open a link in a new window. This creates issues with responsiveness and unnecessarily complicates the app. I don't need to do that with this plugin, since I can use a workflow action on elements instead of a link.
