Plugin details

The Slugify Free plugin converts any given string into a slug format, while performing a proper substitution of the diacritics in the original text.
For example, if the input string is "Café au lait", the plugin would convert it to "cafe-au-lait", preserving the accented  "e". It has special support for Thai language.

There is also a action to just remove diacritics from the text.


This is particularly useful for websites that cater to people who speak latin based languages, where accents are more common.

Works after uninstall and reinstall

I made a review where I stated that it took like 5 seconds on the first slugify-request. After I reinstall it works within a second. Thank you for this free plugin
Feedback on Slugify Plugin Performance

Hi there, First off, thank you for developing this plugin—it's a great tool, and I've found it really useful. I did notice something that I wanted to bring to your attention. It seems like the plugin might be using an API to slugify text, as I've observed that the first time I try to slugify something, it can take up to 10 seconds, but then it performs much faster on subsequent attempts. If possible, could you look into this? It would be great if the initial slugification could be as quick as the follow-up ones. Thanks again for your hard work on this plugin!
The plugin does not rely on external API's, it's just plain javascript, so seems a bit odd to take that much time to render – I'll see if there is anything I can implement to try to improve it, but can't assure a fix for that specific issue. Hope the plugin helps you build a better product! (plugin author)

- Trimmed strings - Remove whitespace characters (spaces, tabs, newlines, etc.) - Diacritical characters replaced - Remove non-alphanumeric characters (including emojis etc.) Saved me a lot time.
