It works! If the plugin gets an error when you zip, check the files source, every file has a valid URL and is non empty.

Using this to make a zip, and it works. Currently compiles a list of files and then once loaded, initiates a download of the zip. I am sure this could improve with folders and some file handling (such as renaming) options. But so far, so good.
