For proctoring sessions, the requirement of a photo ID may vary based on session details. If it is your first time launching the proctoring service, it will ask you for a copy of your photo ID first before any of the other steps. Once that's happened, that ID is in the proctoring system and associated with your name. After that, should you launch the service again at any point (e.g. if you reload the exam multiple times within a single session or restart the exam months later), the service will still have your ID on file and will skip over the step of asking for ID. Instead, you'll see a request for you to take a picture of your face with a webcam, and measure your mic settings.
