At BubbleCon 2024, the Bubble team discussed the strategic advantage of AI for non-technical founders. We also demoed Bubble Assist, our AI feature for even faster building and iterating.
A founder’s most valuable resource is time. That’s why at BubbleCon 2024, Product Marketing Manager Rutvij Bhise and Senior Software Engineer Ally Cody talked about harnessing the power of AI to build full-stack Bubble apps from a prompt. The session showcased Bubble Assist, an AI tool that lets founders spend more time on refinement and less on first drafts.
Key takeaways
Last spring, we launched an AI-powered page generator. Given the positive feedback, we’ve decided to build more advanced AI tools to get people to Day 2 faster.
Bubble is launching Bubble Assist, a tool that creates full-stack applications from a single prompt in minutes, using Bubble’s visual language instead of code.
The tool will significantly speed up a founder’s time to market by allowing early-stage founders to build, test, and refine their ideas efficiently. You can have a first draft on Day 1, so by Day 2 you’re iterating, building out new features, and getting customer feedback.
The alpha version of Bubble Assist will be available in November.
The Day 2 difference with Bubble Assist
Founders wear every hat — they’re sales, marketing, finance, product, and engineering. So finding ways to save time is key.
That’s why in June, Bubble launched the AI page generator so you can create custom pages — like dashboards, landing pages, and product listings — just by inputting text instructions into Bubble. Since launching, we’ve seen countless founders have an easier time getting to market, so we’re doubling down.
But doubling down also means raising the bar. That’s why Bubble Assist took a big step forward from the June launch — allowing users to fast-track the Day 1 build of a full-stack app. Most AI tools on the market today that do something similar only produce flashy first drafts — which are challenging to edit, debug, or iterate on. Beyond that, non-technical founders are left to edit technical code, which can be unintuitive and comes with a steep learning curve.
“The early stage of building is all about learning and getting feedback as fast as possible, with precision. The faster you set up your app on Day 1, the quicker you can talk to a customer on Day 2,” said Rutivij. That means that the faster you’re able to deploy changes based on customer feedback, the faster you can get to market.
That’s why we’re launching Bubble Assist, which will produce a fully functional first draft. Founders will be able to edit the design, data, and logic of their apps even faster.
Bubble Assist demo: Nadia’s story
To showcase exactly what Bubble Assist can do, Rutvij and Ally walked Bubblers through a story many founders can relate to. Nadia is a founder who wants to connect local artisans with buyers, but she doesn’t have a background in coding or development. She finds Bubble and decides to use it to build her MVP.
Day 1
Nadia enters a single prompt into Bubble: “Build an app for local artisans to sell handcrafted goods directly to buyers in New York.” Within seconds, Bubble Assist creates a list of features like shopping carts, wishlists, and user profiles. In just a few minutes, she has a fully functioning, responsive app.
The app is also custom-built for her business, with a complete data schema, workflows, and logic. Every feature she imagined — product listings, search and filter functionality, an artisan dashboard — is already built in, connected, and functional.
Day 2
Within Bubble’s editor, Nadia can work quickly without sacrificing functionality. She’s able to customize every aspect of her app’s design, data, and logic, and Nadia can ensure her product aligns with her unique vision. By enabling granular edits without touching code, Bubble Assist ensures she can move from idea to execution faster, giving her more time to connect with customers, gather feedback, and iterate on Day 2 and beyond.
Previewing, iterating, launching
Bubble Assist means that, in record time, Nadia can connect potential customers with a working product and get their input, then make changes immediately. And when she’s confident about launching her app, she does so right from Bubble.
She hasn’t just built an MVP — she’s built a product that’s robust, scalable, and uniquely hers. She’s ready to start bringing in customers.
