General settings

A guide to the Plugin Editor's General and Shared settings tabs — covering HTML headers, additional keys, shared assets, and mobile library support.

Written by Sofia Maconi

The General tab is the first tab in the plugin editor. It controls how your plugin appears in the marketplace once it's published, so builders can find it, understand what it does, and decide whether to install it.

Properties

Platform compatibility

The Platform compatibility property tells Bubble which platforms your plugin supports: web, mobile, or both.

Setting this correctly makes sure your plugin surfaces for the right builders, since someone building a native mobile app is looking for different functionality than someone building for web.

Plugin categories

Categories help builders find your plugin when they browse or filter the marketplace. You can choose up to five.

You need to select at least one category before you can publish your plugin. If you are creating a plugin for native mobile, make sure to check the Mobile category.

Documentation

Adding documentation makes it easier for builders to evaluate and use your plugin. It isn't required, but it's worth creating, and Bubble offers a free documentation template to help you get started.
