We spoke with Incomee founder, Guglielmo Pardo, about building an app that helps freelancers send invoices and manage finances. Guglielmo has worked as a front-end developer, as well as a product designer; he spends his free time working on side projects, like Incomee. He decided to build his app using Bubble because the no-code platform allowed him to create "real complex web platforms, not just websites."

Tell us about your app and what it does.

Guglielmo Pardo: Many people fail to launch a successful freelancer career or successful business due to poor financial planning. Not having clear answers to questions such as “How much money am I making this month?” or “Will I reach my financial goal at the end of the year?” push freelancers to make poorly informed decisions.

From proposals to payments, Incomee is the easiest solution to effortlessly run a  freelance business. We carefully studied and designed every single feature in order to provide the best user experience in the industry. Creating, managing and sending visually striking invoices or proposals with Incomee is easy, and the app's powerful and simple dashboard provides the overview that freelancers need to maintain peace of mind and plan ahead.

How does your app work?

When they sign up for Incomee, users can set their yearly revenue goal and accept online payments for their invoices. New users create and send professional invoices or proposals in less than 25 seconds. Incomee automates the process by sending invoices to clients on behalf of users.

Besides the invoice and proposal features, our users can easily manage their clients and track  business progress using information about the past, the present and even the future, thanks to the revenue forecast feature--it's all located right in our dashboard.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

I actually studied economics at university, but then I moved quickly into the digital world, first as a front-end developer and then as a product designer. Currently, I’m a Lead Product Designer at a tech company; I'm building Incomee in my free time.

I discovered Bubble just last year, while reading no-code stories on the web. Right away, I was stoked. Bubble was the type of tool that I was looking for. Finally, I could build real complex web platforms, not just websites.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

I was looking for a powerful and scalable solution so that I could create and test an MVP, as well as bring my vision to life. I’ve tried a lot of great no-code tools in the past, but none of them allowed for full freedom over front and back-end elements. You can build almost anything with Bubble.

What have been your successes or milestones so far?

We have more than 1000 freelancers registered and the number keeps growing, which is great since we have not done any marketing. Last month, we launched our new monthly subscription plan. In just a few weeks, we have already acquired 20 paid users. Receiving positive feedback from our users is always a success for us.

What are your next steps or future plans for your app?

We have big plans for Incomee. The main focus is always on getting feedback from the users and improving the app's user experience. Another big project planned is releasing a mobile app version of Incomee for iOS and Android. We're  going to start focusing a bit more on marketing projects as well.
