Misleading description – not a direct S3 upload
March 20th, 2026
I purchased this plugin expecting a true direct upload from the browser to my S3 bucket, as advertised (β€œupload files directly from Bubble apps to your S3 Bucket”). However, after implementation and testing, it turns out the plugin relies on Transloadit as an intermediary service. This means files are first uploaded to Transloadit, then forwarded to S3 β€” which is not a direct upload to S3. This has several implications: β€’ Additional latency (double upload) β€’ Potential extra costs (Transloadit usage) β€’ Less control over the upload flow β€’ Not aligned with architectures aiming to avoid intermediaries While the plugin may still work for some use cases, the description is misleading and should clearly state that it depends on a third-party service. If you are specifically looking for direct browser β†’ S3 uploads (e.g. via signed URLs), this plugin is not the right solution.
