This is the simplest, most flexible, and most natively 'Bubblish' way to create HTML chips aka tags with complete design freedom and NO CODE whatsoever.

It turns any Bubble Repeating Group from a grid layout into a flowing inline list.

Use cases:
* simple text tags
* tags with icons, images, context-dependent color...
* clickable tags to enable and disable selections
* flowing lists of images, products, posts...
* anything you can imagine

Unlike other tag plugins or HTML element + JavaScript hacks, this method doesn't require any HTML or JavaScript knowledge. It doesn't even require you to add a #id attribute to any elements.

The plugin is extremely lightweight: <100 characters added to your page. For the technically-minded, it works by simply adding display:flex and flex-flow:wrap CSS properties to your Repeating Group. It does this using a next sibling selector, hence the need to put the element provided by this plugin immediately before your Repeating Group.

Instructions

Simply place the 'Chippify next RG' element that the plugin provides *immediately before* the Repeating Group you want to modify.
Ensure your Repeating Group has the following settings:

* Fixed number of rows = OFF
* Fixed number of columns = ON and set to 1

Use the Elements Tree on the left of the editor pane to check that the plugin's element is immediately before your Repeating Group. It simply won't work if it's not in the right place.

Nice plugin that is much more "Bubble" than HTML chips

This plugin just worked right away. It allowed me to do things that are impossible by using the non-clickable multidropdown method like making the tags clickable or reacting to a hover, and much easier than the HTMP chip method, for making the tabs clickable and using dynamic data for colours and fonts... nice, clean and simple... good work and thanks for making it!

Is it possible to align the elements inside the repeating group to the center instead of to the left?
Not yet, but that's an interesting idea - look out for an update soon (plugin author)

Works, but has problems. Specifically, the chippify next RG element may be invisible on the page, however, it still takes up the space it given in the editor. That's no good for layout
As far as I know, that's a limitation with Bubble's plugin capabilities. Also, if it was invisible when designing, most users would be wondering "where is it?" You can of course resize the element once it's placed to make it very small if you like, a few px and you'll hardly notice the effect on the layout but will still be able to find it. (plugin author)

Can't seem to get it to work?

I have definitely put it exactly before the Repeating Group. But I can't see an option for Fixed number of rows = off only option is to specify number of rows. Any ideas?
Chippify can't change the options available in the Repeating Group properties panel, so it's not the plugin. Ideas: 1. Perhaps you're not using the "New Responsive Engine"? 2. Post a screenshot and description on the forum at https://forum.bubble.io/t/chippify-repeating-group-chips-tags-in-pure-bubble/209837. Hope that helps! (plugin author)

Works like a Charm!!

I'm so glad that I found this little gem. I am really good with responsive engine, but the chips and Tags in RGs were always keeping me from becoming the best designer out there. I tried this one on a test app and it works like a charm. This plugin is going places (including all my future apps). A big thanks to the Author :) <3
