Given a list of dates, group them by hours into a list of counts and fill in the gaps.
Say you have a list of events over 24 hour (logins, purchases, downloads) and you want to graph how many events happened each hour. You pass the list of dates in and out comes list of hour labels and a list of counts - with any gaps in the hour filled in.
Really useful for creating charts where you want to show activity over time. ie time series of events.
