Native Rich Text Input lets users write, format, edit, and save rich text inside Bubble mobile apps. It is useful for notes, documents, journal entries, comments, descriptions, checklists, structured writing, support replies, task details, and any screen where users need more than plain text.

Instructions

  • Add the Native Rich Text Input element to your mobile page.
  • Set a placeholder to guide users when the editor is empty.
  • Use Initial JSON when loading content previously saved from the JSON value state.
  • Use Initial HTML when you already have saved HTML content.
  • Use Initial plain text when you only need to preload simple text.
  • Use the JSON value state when you want the most reliable format for saving and restoring editor content.
  • Use the HTML value state when you need formatted content for display, emails, previews, or external storage.
  • Use the Plain text value state when you need searchable or preview-friendly text.
  • Use Read only when users should view content without editing it.
  • Use Show slash menu when you want users to quickly insert headings, lists, quotes, and other text blocks.
  • Adjust background color and text color to match your page design.
  • Use vertical padding and horizontal padding to control the spacing inside the editor.
  • Use the Focus editor action when you want to place the cursor inside the editor from a workflow.
  • Use the Blur editor action when you want the editor to lose focus.
  • Use the Clear editor action when you want to remove all content.
  • Use Set JSON content, Set HTML content, or Set plain text when you want to replace the editor content from a workflow.
  • Use Insert block when you want to add a paragraph, heading, list item, checklist item, quote, or code block from a workflow.
  • Save the JSON value state if users need to continue editing the same content later.
  • Test the editor on both Bubble Go and your target mobile devices because keyboard, scrolling, and formatting behavior can vary slightly by device and operating system.
