Native PDF Viewer is a mobile PDF viewing plugin for Bubble apps. It lets users display PDF documents directly inside a Bubble mobile/native app using a clean, app-friendly viewer interface.
The plugin supports PDFs from public URLs, Bubble-uploaded file URLs, and local PDF opening from the user’s device. It includes practical document controls such as page navigation, page number input, zoom in/out, reload, search with highlighted results, and optional vertical or horizontal page scrolling.

Native PDF Viewer is useful for apps that need to display invoices, contracts, receipts, reports, certificates, manuals, learning materials, application documents, booking files, legal documents, or any other PDF-based content inside a mobile experience.

The viewer is designed for iOS and Android mobile preview/device testing. It uses Bubble-supported mobile libraries and does not require unsupported native PDF packages.

Instructions

1. Add the Native PDF Viewer element to your Bubble mobile page.
2. Set the PDF source:
- Choose Public URL if your PDF is hosted publicly online.
- Choose Bubble uploaded file if the PDF comes from Bubble’s File Uploader or database file field.
- If using Public URL, enter the PDF link in the PDF URL field.
- The link should be a direct, public https:// PDF URL.
- If using Bubble uploaded file, pass the uploaded file’s URL into the Bubble uploaded PDF URL field.

2. Set the viewer title in the Title field.
Example: Invoice Viewer, Course Material, Report Preview, or PDF Viewer.

3. Enable or disable toolbar options:
- Show toolbar
- Show page controls
- Show zoom controls
- Show search
- Show reload
- Show open PDF

4. Use workflow actions when needed:
- Set PDF URL changes the current PDF dynamically.
- Reload PDF reloads the current document.
- Go to page jumps to a specific page number.
- Zoom in increases the PDF zoom.
- Zoom out decreases the PDF zoom.
- Reset zoom returns the PDF to normal scale.
- Open PDF lets the user choose a local PDF from their device.
- Search text searches for words inside the PDF.

5. Use published states in Bubble workflows or text elements:
-is_loading
-is_loaded
-has_error
-last_error_message
-current_page
-total_pages
-current_zoom
-current_pdf_url
-search_query
-selected_text

6. Use events to trigger workflows:
-pdf loading started
-pdf loaded
-pdf load failed
-page changed
-zoom changed
-pdf picked
-search completed

*IMPORTANT TESTING NOTE*
This plugin should be tested on a real iOS or Android device, or Bubble’s mobile/native preview. Some PDF and WebView behavior may not work correctly in the standard web editor preview.
