PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING

The native in-app review card (the star prompt the operating system shows without leaving your app) is drawn by Apple's and Google's own native review controllers. Showing that card requires a native review module to be compiled into the app which Bubble have not added yet but will be soon.

At the time of writing, that module is not part of the Bubble native runtime. This means the true native star card cannot be shown yet. Until the module is added, this plugin instead sends the user to the store's review screen: on iOS it opens the review composer directly, on Android it opens the reviews section of your listing. I have confirmed with Bubble that the required 'expo-store-review' library will be added soon. When it's available, the plugin should automatically see and use it.

Two further things to know, which are true of every app store review prompt and not specific to this plugin: Apple and Google deliberately limit how often the native card can appear, and iOS ignores the request on TestFlight builds. So "nothing appeared" can be normal behaviour.

If you need a star rating you capture yourself (saved to your own database rather than sent to the stores), that is a different feature and this plugin does not do it. This plugin routes users to the official store review, which is the only way a rating reaches the App Store or Play Store.

A note on best practice

Apple and Google advise against firing a review request straight from a "Rate us" button. Trigger it after a natural moment such as completing a task, and do not ask the user a question before showing it. The plugin follows the mechanics; you choose the moment.
