Guide & Initial Setup:
Firstly you need to think about what fields you want downloaded in the CSV file. Specifically you need to be aware of any fields that will be referenced from other tables in your database.
Note - By default when we cross reference different tables in the database, Bubble saves the unique ID. This needs to be changed so that the actual value of the field you want to cross reference is saved instead of the unique ID
With this done you will need to go to API settings and enable the data API for all the tables that are included in the CSV. Ensure that the checkbox for 'Use field display instead of ID for field names' is checked
Plugin Steps:
1. Drop the plugin element onto the page (it won't be visible on live preview).
2. In the Things Name field enter the name of the thing you want exported exactly as it appears in your database. In our case we're exporting Book.
The Current App's URL field should be This url.
3. In the Search for a Thing field perform a search for the thing you want to export eg "Books". Feel free to add whatever constraints and sorting you want.
4. The Fields and Subfields section is extremely important. You need to enter the entity names you want to appear exactly as they appear in your database.
This is case sensitive. If you are using table headers then you will need to create the fields in the same order as your table headers.
5. When referencing a field in the parent Thing's table leave the value blank i.e. when we reference the Title of a Book or the number of Pages we can leave the value blank.
