Jacob Seeger and Alex Steinberg had a problem: They wanted to produce “faceless” videos — ie, videos that don’t feature a person on camera — for social media, but it was taking a lot of time to write, edit, and post all the content daily. “We got together and talked about the idea of automating the process with AI,” says Jacob, “which then evolved into creating an AI-driven SaaS platform for others to use.”

In October 2023, Jacob (a songwriter and business owner turned no-code developer) and Alex (a writer, director, and animation studio founder) launched

Faceless.video. In less than a year, the company reached $1 million ARR with a user base of more than 850,000 — all powered by Bubble.

From 0 to $1M+ ARR in less than a year

When Alex first conceived of the idea for an internal automated AI tool, he turned to Jacob, who had experience building MVPs on Bubble. But they’d each built successful businesses before, so Jacob saw a bigger opportunity — why not make it a SaaS tool available to everyone? And Faceless.video was born.

Alex initially started drafting frontend scaffolding in HTML, but quickly realized it wasn’t needed — Jacob could do everything on Bubble. “We decided to use Bubble as a starting point and our ending point,” Alex says. “There’s no intention to switch off of it.”

Over the next few months, Jacob built the entire app while Alex focused on their go-to-market strategy. Now, less than a year into their startup journey, the business has grossed more than $1 million in ARR.

Bubble is the “centerpiece” of their flexible, extensible tool

Today, Faceless.video hums as an efficient, reliable AI engine that automates content creation for hundreds of thousands of creators. From API calls to webhooks, Bubble serves as the core “centerpiece” augmented with several integration and custom code touchpoints. 

“We decided to use Bubble as a starting point and our ending point. There’s no intention to switch off of it.”

Here’s how it works: First, the tool asks how you want your videos created. Users can pick between having AI generate the stories, having the platform pull stories from a subreddit or search the internet, or manually entering stories themselves. Afterwards, the user selects their video style preferences, and the platform uses AI to write and edit a new unique video on their behalf every day, entirely automated. Users then decide where they’d like the video content posted — YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram — and how frequently. Faceless.video does the magic of automating both the creation and posting processes behind the scenes — no human touch required.

Alex and Jacob agree that Bubble is a good match for their “do whatever it takes to get things done” mindset, as it helps them build and iterate swiftly. “We come from creative backgrounds,” says Alex. “Bubble has allowed us to do more.”

As Jacob and Alex look toward the future, it’s all about scale and expansion. For example, they recently rolled out a new B2B feature that enables any business to have a human-like AI influencer promote their product or service, entirely automated. 

Reflecting on what he’d tell others who are considering building on Bubble, Jacob says, “Do it. You don’t need to have a tech background to build a business that works.”
