Why Gaming Powerhouse Unity Powers Up With Bubble
Three circular stats: ~3X faster than traditional development, 1 Bubble developer, 5th most visited page on purple gradient background

Keren Franck, Product Manager at Supersonic from Unity, was looking for a way to solve a customer problem: Game creators had questions that they couldn’t find answers for. From her time spent speaking with real users, she knew that creating a knowledge hub could help reduce support inquiries, increase retention, and promote positive brand sentiment.

But it was tough to get dedicated development resources for the project, and it wasn’t on the immediate roadmap. So Keren decided to build an MVP on Bubble. She wrote a product requirements doc (PRD), partnered with a designer teammate, and in just a few months, designed, developed, and launched the Supersonic Knowledge Hub — now the Supersonic platform’s fifth most visited page.

A year and a half since its launch, Supersonic’s Knowledge Hub, powered by Bubble, continues to thrive and grow — serving more than 15,000 Supersonic partners a year, evolving to include a management portal for internal teams, and resulting in meaningful cost savings compared to a traditional development route.

More doing, less waiting with no-code

“It’s the classic story of wanting to do lots of things but not necessarily having the resources,” Keren explains. “The Knowledge Hub wasn’t a must, but it was still critically important as a way to better serve our partners.”

After evaluating other no-code options, Keren decided on Bubble after realizing other options weren’t as customizable or full-stack.

Keren mocked up an MVP on her personal Bubble account in just four hours and shared it with her manager. “ I could do everything on my own — I said, just give me a blank page on the Supersonic site and I can embed the Bubble app in an iframe. No developers.”

After showcasing what was possible in such short order, Keren got the official green light to build the full Supersonic Knowledge Hub on Bubble. It took less than a month to get the first section up and running — 3X faster than Keren estimates traditional development would have taken, and at a fraction of the cost.

Benefiting customers and the business

Keren hypothesized that creating a Knowledge Hub to support Supersonic’s game developers could benefit both customers and the business. While today’s Supersonic Knowledge Hub has three very distinct sections, Keren started by building one section at a time. Each section took her about a week to program, and that was while she was juggling her other day-job responsibilities. But even with time needed for input from other team members, like design, she had the hub deployed in production and adding value for users in only a few months.

Today, the Bubble-built Supersonic Knowledge Hub serves as a destination for game developers to keep up with iOS and Google Play store trends, market and industry changes, and tips and tricks for building hit games. The “tips and tricks” tab is organized by subcategories like game ideation, monetization, and game design to best help users. “I feel like Bubble allows me to do everything, but I'm not limited to anything,” Keren says.

The “perfect tool” for product managers

But Keren didn’t stop there. While she once had to make all the Supersonic Knowledge Hub updates herself, she’s since expanded the app to enable internal teams to upload and edit text or video content on their own. She built a self-service “back-office” to optimize common processes — all powered by Bubble. “[Internal teams] can just upload a new video, define the title, provide some tags, etc.,” she explains. “It will just show up here in the UI. They don’t need me.”

Reflecting on her experience launching the Supersonic Knowledge Hub on Bubble, Keren says more product managers should consider Bubble as a tool in their toolbox. “I think it’s the perfect tool for product managers to show the potential of anything,” she stresses. “I was able to build this by looking at tutorials, reading the Bubble Forum, and YouTube videos — I had no development knowledge.”

“It’s been about one and a half years since we started using Bubble. At the beginning, you think what you’re building is just an MVP and that maybe one day a developer will take it and re-develop it in-house — but then you realize it works. It does the job, and everyone is happy with it.”
