We spoke with Gumball co-founders, Steven Rho and Roger Greene, about building an app that helps brands manage and track the success of their influencer marketing campaigns. Steven and Roger are DIY-type entrepreneurs who do not have programming backgrounds. They heard about Bubble at Switchyards, an Atlanta-based entrepreneurial hub, and decided to use the no-code platform to build Gumball.

What problem does your company solve?

Steven Rho: Influencer marketing done right is a hugely effective way for brands to market their products, but managing influencer marketing campaigns can be time-consuming. It’s usually tough to know which ones are working, and which ones are a waste of money. To address this problem, we make it easy for brands of all sizes to run and measure the effectiveness of their influencer marketing campaigns so that they can get the most bang for their buck.

How does your app work?

Once users sign up, we start pulling in their Instagram and Google Analytics data so that they can see which influencers are talking about them, and how that buzz is affecting their website traffic, sales, follower count, and a whole lot more. Users can also set up campaigns that include budgets and goals for a specific influencer campaign. Gumball automatically calculates important metrics for influencer campaigns so that users can see how they’re performing.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

We heard about Bubble through friends at Switchyards, an entrepreneurial hub based out of Atlanta. We’d also heard it mentioned on Indie Hackers, which is a great resource for DIY-type entrepreneurs.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

Neither of us (Steven or Roger) code, but we had a vision for what we wanted. Bubble gave us the opportunity to build what was in our heads quickly, and without spending a ton of money.

What has been your traction or success so far?

We’ve been using the app for a few months now for a toy company that Steven runs, called Big Future Toys. We’ve gotten great results from using the tool to vet influencers and manage influencer marketing campaigns.

What are your future plans for your app?

Now that we have some proof that Gumball works, we want to open up our app to other brands so that they can also reap the benefits of the tool.
