We spoke with Luzsol founder, Roberto Baldizón, about starting a company that brings reliable power and energy sources to more people by addressing each region’s unique infrastructure needs. Roberto is from Guatemala City and has worked in a number of industries before pursuing his own entrepreneurial projects. With the help of Bubble, he has been able to focus on his company’s core objectives while offering additional services in Central America and elsewhere.
What problem does your company solve?
Roberto Baldizón: A Miami-based energy company, Luzsol endeavors to bring reliable power to more people, especially in regions with poor energy infrastructure and extreme weather conditions. We design systems and products that are optimized for the needs of our clients and the location where they will be installed. Our goal is to provide services that meet each region’s specific needs so that they can enjoy greater resiliency, independence, and security when it comes to accessing energy.
How does your app work?
Luzsol offers a number of services. For example, the app allows customers to post questions about electrical and energy-related project needs so that experts can chime in and offer assistance. Thanks to Luzsol, energy experts will be able to sell and promote their services to a larger customer base.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
Originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala, I have spent my life traveling. Besides living in Germany, I have completed most of my education in the United States and consider myself a truly global citizen. I speak Spanish, English, and Germany, and am familiar with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and C#. A firm believer that education is a lifelong process, I have taken courses at Penn State (my alma mater), Georgetown, UC Berkeley, INCAE, Harvard Business School online, and Columbia Engineering online.
After graduating from Penn State, I worked at an oil production company in Belize, completing engineering and finance projects, until I moved back to Guatemala to help my family with their businesses. Back in Guatemala, I have worked in the retail, wholesale, hospitality, and healthcare industries, all before launching my own entrepreneurial projects. In 2016, I founded Luzsol, which started out as a solar panel installation project but has since become a clean-energy tech company.
I found out about Bubble through some friends who work as professional developers. Tired of the repetitive nature of coding apps, they were searching for options that would allow them to make products faster, in a way that was both cost effective and reliable.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
We built our app on Bubble because the no-code platform has reliable databases and structures. Using Bubble allowed us to build Luzsol quickly. We were able to focus our attention on our core business and technical objectives, even as we continued to offer more services.
What has been your traction or success so far?
We launched our app and have received great feedback from our stakeholders. Thanks to our app’s “offline process” feature, Luzsol has been able to service quite a few small businesses in Central America. We provide them with a reliable alternative source of power, which is desperately needed in the region.
What are your future plans for your app?
We will continue integrating the app with our local markets. To accomplish this, we will improve the design, create a Spanish version, and simplify the number of services and products so that we can better tailor Luzsol’s services to our target market. These steps will set our company up for further growth.
