Moazzam Khan and Nicole Harrison, co-founders of Med Helper Now, tell us how they designed their platform to connect service providers and users in medicine to best get help to the people who might need it the most. Building a platform of this scale was quite an undertaking even with their coding experience, but Bubble's drag-and-drop elements, data integration, and security made the whole process of building Med Helper now simpler.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
Medhelpernow is a platform that allows home healthcare service providers such as nurses, physical therapists, nutritionists, etc. to post their services. A client/user looking for a specific provider offering a certain service can search for it in their desired locations and can book, communicate and pay for the services using the platform for free.
How does your app work?
The app has two types of users, 1) Service Providers and 2) Service Users, so the experience is different for them. All users can signup for a user account either using their email, gmail or Facebook account.
- Service Providers: If you are a service provider, like a nurse, you click on the tab "Become a Nurse." This takes you to a registration page where we collect some basic information to verify the license is valid in the state where the nurse wants to provide services. There is a dashboard for nurse where they can check their upcoming and past bookings, their listings, their payment setup to receive payments.
- Users: Users have a dashboard where they can see the bookings they have made, their credit card settings that they will use for paying for the services they book. They have the capability to communicate with the service providers before they book.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
We are a two-person team, so we wanted a platform where we don't have to spend tons of hour just creating basic elements.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
Even though one of us knew how to code we haven't built anything of this scale before and wanted a platform that could provide us with components that professional teams have taken a lot of time to built and it has been reviewed by hundreds of people before so that we know that it is tested thoroughly. Besides click and drop features of elements it has built in data integration so we didn't have to worry about setting that up. Also there are strong control for maintaining the security and privacy policy of the data so that was a big criteria for our selection. It also has integration with email, payment system, integration with tons of APIs, powerful capability to write your own plugins, hosting included service at reasonable price for small teams like us. In short we selected bubble because it wouldn't be possible for a small team like ours to manage all of the above aspect in a reasonable time. Also built in responsive features were a great help to make our app mobile.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
It has been just three weeks since the launch but so far we have been able to generate a lot of traffic to our site thanks to SEO build in capabilities and able to monitor daily traffic using the built in analytic features in Bubble. We have also been able to bring in few institutions in the home healthcare space and they are interested in posting services on our platform.
What are your future plans for your app?
For future we are planning to add more services and features to our platform.
