Bubble App of the Day: Classpe

We spoke with Classpe website designer and developer, Fred Meng, about building an online learning platform for teachers and children with live streaming capabilities. Fred is a web designer and developer who has been using no-code tools to launch websites and web apps for quite some time. Looking for a no-code platform with powerful backend capabilities, he discovered Bubble, which allowed him to integrate the app’s frontend with databases, as well as a PayPal payment API.

What problem does your project solve?

Fred Meng: Classpe is an online learning platform for teachers and students that offers live-streaming lessons, pop quizzes, and more. Using the dashboard, students and teachers manage their various courses. They can also access and download content for their classes.

How does your app work?

When a student signs up, they are directed to our marketplace, called “LearnStore,” where they can discover available courses prepared by verified teachers. The first 3 lessons are free, but after that, students and their parents can begin making payments with PayPal. Those who sign in as teachers have access to an admin panel, which allows them to create and upload materials, live stream lessons, assign pop quizzes, and more. Thanks to Bubble’s robust backend capabilities, we are able to record and save lectures so that students can refer back to previous lessons.

Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.

I am a web designer and web developer who prefers to build websites and applications with no-code tools. I came across Bubble when I was looking for a no-code platform that would enable me to create web applications, as well as play around with data stored in databases. It only took me 7 days to build my first Bubble app.

Why did you build your app on Bubble?

Besides being easy to use, Bubble provides seamless integration with databases and instant feedback on any errors (with helpful explanations). These features make it possible to create effective workflows without having to use more traditional tools, such as HTML.

What has been your traction or successes so far?

To date, we have had 81 Malaysian students sign up as users and start learning.

What are your future plans for your app?

So far, our features have been geared towards teachers and students. Next, we plan to develop a panel for parents, which will encourage them to monitor their children’s progress.
