We asked Pravvas co-founders, Sanup and Krishna Bhulawala, about building an app that allows users to build a travel itinerary for their travel plans. Sanup and Krishna are both product managers and are passionate about user experience. They chose Bubble because the no-code platform gave them the right balance of price, learning curve, and features.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
Pravvas means Travel in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit. Pravvas allows a traveler to build a travel itinerary and assists them in their trip. You can customize the itinerary the way you want. But it does more than building an itinerary, it’s your personalized travel assistant.
- Book and view flights
- Find activities to do
- Look up places to eat
- Keep track of your trip expenses
- Auto-curate a packing list
- Check the weather in your itinerary
- Receive travel and weather advisory alerts
- Receive notifications around your trip
How does your app work?
We focused solely on the experience and started the product development from there. The user enters their destination and dates which builds an itinerary for them. This itinerary has picked the best flight option. The user can choose another flight option or simply change the timing in the itinerary if they have tickets already.
No vacation is complete without choosing things to do. Users can choose activities from Tourist Attractions, Places to Eat, Concerts, Parks (USA) and Audio Guides. Simply add them to their Want List. For every trip, we have built a tray that sits at the bottom that is called the Want List. This list holds all the activities and events that the user wants to do at their destination.
Clicking on the item in the Want List will add it to the Itinerary. This allows the user to have flexibility of swapping activities if needed.
Saving their trip will give them access to a pre-created packing list, manage expenses, integrated weather and more.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
As product managers, we are obsessed about the user journey and think primarily from the user's point of view. So mimicking our design into the app was the first requirement. But we also needed the ability to power our complex backend logic. The only way we knew was to freelance it until we saw some YouTube videos that allowed us to make our own apps.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
We tried and compared several coding and no-code tools. We even explored freelancing however Bubble gave us the right balance of price, learning curve, and features.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
When you build your own app, small milestones have great satisfaction like designing your own logo, branding your app and so on.
Building an experience for mobile is quite different from the web. To be able to keep the experience different yet the same is quite an achievement.
Having our first user sign up and use it is simply a joy. We also received a lot of great feedback from friends and family on how cool the app is.
What are your next steps or future plans for your app?
We have an extensive list of product enhancements which will be tailored based on user data. Our next step is to launch an iOS and Android app to make Pravvas even more accessible. Come visit us at www.pravvas.com and build your travel itinerary for free!
