Kamiro Willis, founder of BLACEXPO, tells us how he's giving independent businesses and entrepreneurs a platform to sell their wares, as well as giving users the opportunity to interact and purchase from local brands. Without the need to study coding for months or years, Bubble gave Willis the tools to create BLACEXPO in a timely manner with all the features he wanted.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
BLACEXPO is an ecommerce marketplace app created for Buyers & Sellers to facilitate community transactions around the world. BLACEXPO is focused on small businesses and individual entrepreneurs growth by allowing sellers with a monthly subscription to have a digital brand store to sell their products and services.
How does your app work?
BLACEXPO is a two sided app. You have sellers who are creating financial freedom by signing-up and gaining access to tools such as: direct messaging chat from buyers, index page marketing, Sales/Shipping monitor, URL link and drop shipping products from suppliers. On the flip side you have Buyers who can shop with local, new brands while communicating directly with each business.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
I am 36 years old from Detroit, MI with a strong passion for Technology & Science in which I’m self-taught. I currently work for FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) as a Robotics Maintenance Supervisor while simultaneously (with the help of zeroqode) build and operate BLACEXPO with my team. I discovered Bubble after getting confused with learning to code and how to deploy a software program. I found it very difficult. After nonstop researching, I found a list of new start-up software on indie hackers. There I found Zeroqode and Bubble! I studied Bubble founders and loved what they represented.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
With Bubble all-around software building capabilities, I can now use my creativity skills to build a start-up company like the multi-million dollar companies in silicon valley. Bubble has allowed a person like myself from the inner city to dream big and offer opportunity and inspiration to everyone who feel defeated by Big Tech.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
My greatest successes is overcoming poverty and the lack of a quality education to being able to achieve my goal. Hard work, focus, and tenacity has lead me out of the inner city, to building world class Ram trucks and now launching my very own app! BLACEXPO is live and available on Apple App Store also Google Play.
What are your future plans for your app?
My team and I are focused on signing up sellers and promoting BLACEXPO marketplace. We’re adding new products everyday and looking to official launch around the world. We’re constantly adding new features to simplify buyers and sellers experience such as adding swiping functionality to view the next items on mobile view and coming soon, the sellers will have the ability to upload their entire catalog like Shopify. Additionally, we’re going to build a business directory with google mapping for direction and information. We’re excited and expecting continued growth!
