We asked the CleanMenu.ch team, Arthur Chabert, Reda, Yannick, and Morgan about building an app that enhances the experience of restaurants' owner and restaurants' customers. They built Fhyve, a Swiss digital product agency based in Geneva and have a decade of experience building and launching market leader products used by thousands of users per day for startups in Swiss and France. They chose Bubble because the no-code platform offers the customization options, features, and resources to build their app in a short amount of time.
Tell us about your app and what it does.
CleanMenu.ch is a solution that enhances the experience of restaurants owner and restaurants' customers. Our patrons are managers of restaurants, bars and hotels, but it is used by both managers and the establishments' customers. Clean Menu allows restaurant owners to create a digital menu and its linked QR code. Restaurants' customers scan the QR code to discover the digital menu, commonly called QR code Menu.
The simplicity and the UX behind the solution allow restaurants and bars to create, manage and update their menu in a couple of minutes. The app business model is based on a subscription fee that will vary depending of the capacity of the restaurants/bars using it.
How does your app work?
New users, namely managers, will have a personal login and password. These give access to the admin page where they can create their food list, their beverages list and the daily specials. For each item of the menu, the administrator need to : choose a category ( starters, Pizza, Meat, Fish etc) add the name and description of the item can add a picture or a video, the quantities and prices as the dietary specification (vegan, gluten etc).
They can decide when they want to highlight specific items (drinks of the day, "dish of the day") and can manage the availability of the products thanks to the "out of stock" option. The solution can be implemented in different languages, facilitating the experience of the foreign restaurant customers.
Tell us a little about your background and how you discovered no-code tools like Bubble.
We built Fhyve, a Swiss digital product agency based in Geneva. We all have a decade of experience building and launching market leader products used by thousands of users per day for startups in Swiss and France. We were aware of no-code tools like WordPress but far from this world then we decided to launch a product and we failed badly. We understood how important it is to test a market before investing years and big money into development. We started to look at the tools to go in that direction and we decided to start with Bubble.
Why did you build your app on Bubble?
We commit ourselves to customers with an agreement of time and money. With the current health situation we had the idea of CleanMenu.ch so we decided to probe our committment. We developed CleanMenu in a restricted time period and money with Bubble. Mission accomplished.
What have been your milestones or successes so far?
From an external point of view, a big milestone would be that we successfully built a stable application that answers the needs of our current customers. From an internal point of view, the major success would be that we implemented a process that allows us though automatic notifications to get in contact within a minute with customers and prospect in order to engage discussion on their need.
What are your future plans for your app?
The goal for us is to grow the usage of the solution. We would like to be seen as a serious player in the digital menu world. We are working on an order service that facilitates exchanges between customers and restaurants without going through a third party. We have as well in the pipeline some innovations that arise thanks to the discussion with our actual customers...all of them doable thanks to Bubble of course!
